On Tuesday, November 3, Washington Citizens voted to ban Trans girls from sports. Enforcing that will require genital examinations, probably done by male doctors, on girls as young as five years old. I thought we would all be on the same page, but clearly I was wrong. As I looked at the map of Washington Counties, seeing who voted for what, I found myself thinking, "The Left has a Transphobia problem."
There were three initiatives on our state ballot on Tuesday: one to repeal our millionaire tax, one requiring schools to dox their students to their parents on request, and the one banning trans girls from playing sports. The one to strip the millionaire tax didn't go through because everyone voting hates the billionaire class with a burning passion, the one to require doxing of students didn't go through because I guess people didn't really care. Yet the one banning trans girls from sports did go through, even though at this point every one should know that banning trans girls from sports doesn't just affect trans girls, it affects all girls. We've all seen how people react when a not traditionally feminine woman wins an award in sports even when she's cis, and we all know that these measures universally don't take the sex on one's birth certificate as sufficient evidence of one's womanhood. The only way to prove that you're a woman is to strip, naturally.
I can only assume that this happened because while the left froths at the mouth to make billionaires pay their fair share, it refuses to acknowledge the damage they do to minorities when it doesn't affect them directly. What's the point in fighting if you're not going to keep the system from hurting the vulnerable in the interim? I don't identify as a woman anymore, but if I did and I saw this happening, I'd be feeling uncomfortable being in leftist spaces if they weren't trans affirming. I would have no way of knowing if they were going to demand that I strip at some point. Because given the percentages, a lot of women voted for this to. It's not just creepy dudes that want to see your genitals at this stage, it's creepy women as well. Wasn't feminism supposed to be about protecting women from situations like this?
